Has anyone tried Match.com?

Has anyone tried Match.com? I just signed up with my profile today, and was browsing a little. While browsing a member caught my eye and I even sent him a *wink* a few minutes ago  I'm not sure if we are totally compatiable, but he is cute! I'm debating on whether or not to join. I've never done anything like this before, I'm really shy and nervous around guys to begin with, and I've never had a boyfriend.

So, has anyone tried it? Did it work for you? What did you like about Match? What did you NOT like about Match?

Should I take the plunge a become a member?

If you are looking for a true Christian someone that is serious about their faith with God, then you will probably have a tough time finding one on there. Most don't even bother to respond.. Depends on how your profile is written, if it is clear that you are a serious Christian, this seems to be a deterant.

Don't other Christians use the service? I've seen several profiles already of men professing Christ.

Why would that be the case?

Thanks for your response.

I am sure their are some Christian men there, depends on how large of a geographic region that you are looking in. I have just seem some people who list "Christian" as a religion, and they are not Christians.

The reseason someone would be detered by you professing Christ is that don't want to be with a Christian, they want a one nite stand gal, and a God fearig gal.

I would try eharmony.com-- It is designed by a Christian Psychologist, Dr. Neil Clark Warren. And it is more comprehensive than other dating sites. You can sign up for a Free Personality Profile, and I think there is a fee to join--not sure, though.

Lol, I tried this. There are over a million members on that site, and they said not a single one of them was compatable with me.

I would only do Christian Dating because I think that is the first and foremost website I would try. Because being a Christian to me and to that person is first and foremost important.

Ditto. I was given this message:
unable_to_match_at_this_time_title.gif

eHarmony is based upon a complex matching system developed through extensive testing of married individuals. One of the requirements for it to work successfully is for participants to fall into our rigorously defined profiles. If we aren't able to match a user well using these profiles, the most considerate approach is to inform them early in the process.

We are so convinced of the importance of creating compatible matches to help people establish and enjoy happy, lasting relationships that we choose not to provide service rather than risk an uncertain match.

Unfortunately, we are not able to make our profiles work for you. Our matching system is not suitable for about 20% of potential users, so 1 in 5 people simply would not benefit from our service. We hope that you understand that we regret our inability to provide service for you at this time.

You can still receive your free personality profile by clicking here.

Gimme a break!

I'm on match.com(shamous11). I kinda refuse to pay money to them though so I just send kisses and hope I get responses back lol! I've had three gf's off chatting so far so I kinda wanna start looking in the real world anyway. But some email buddies could be good!

Hey-whatever works for you

I sent a smiley yesterday to a guy on Match (and found out that he wants kids on CM :sigh: ), and another guy sent me a note, but we are not compatitable. I sent him a "Thanks, but no thanks" note.

I went on Christian Mingle the other day and have gotten a few hits from men-everywhere from North Carolina to India and Morocco  My profile says my ideal match is 50 miles from where I live! I did see a guy from Orlando that peaked my interest-I would visit him in a second if he's a nice chap and anything comes from my smiley!

Let me take a wild guess, you got this message?

Where is the little *rolleyes* emoticon when you need him?

Tried eharmony, got the 'our approach won't work for you' message. I'm very eccentric so I wasn't surprised.

As for match.com, I subscribed for a little while but lost interest after a couple weeks. Didn't message many people, didn't meet anyone. If you do sign up, I'd advise the minimal commitment (1 month). Usually only the guy subscribes because - I'm pretty sure - anyone can read messages in match.com, but only subscribers can send - the subscriber usually includes his email address in the message so the other person doesn't need to subscribe too.
