  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Has anyone read this Book?

I read an interesting novel that is related to the subject of Jesus second coming. It's a fictional work but made me really think about this subject of Jesus' return to save our souls. It's title is, "Monitor: They have been here since the Beginning" Has anyone else read this? What do you think of the author's premise, etc.? I found it on Amazon.

Maybe nobody has read this book. I was just struck by the way the role of Jesus was connected to Eastern religions and to popular culture motifs and ideas. I think that fits into Conspiracy Theory subject matter, no? You have been told, SepiaAndDust. Good day sir.
Any one familiar with Karen Armstrong??

You have been told, SepiaAndDust. Good day sir.

What do you mean? Do you wish me a good day, or mean that it is a good day whether I want it or not; or that you feel good today; or that it is a day to be good on?

I don't necessarily agree with all of her points, but she argues them well, and I've found her engaging and interesting.

All at once I would suppose.

I made a couple of posts. And you know what they say about assuming. . . . Just like discussing new books I find, but maybe this is the wrong forum for thoughtful discussion. Should have perhaps tried to connect with people on a more scholarly website.

This is true, sometimes you find a way of seeing things after someone else, such as a book, gives a new way of looking at it. And just possibly a Christian forum might just have a neuron to add to the theme.

John 7:24

I'll check it out. Thanks

You never know, it just might be an angel, right? Paul did not give this warning for no earthly reason did he?
