Dinosaurs of the Flaming Cliffs by Dr. Michael Novacek?
If not, I highly recommend doing so. It's about Dr. Novacek and his team of Paleontologists discovering late Cretaceous dinosaur and mammal fossils in the Gobi Desert. It is written more like a journal than a science manuscript. It should be pretty easy for most people to follow. I'm not the greatest at completely understanding most in the scientific realm of things without BananaSlug helping me out but this was a great read for me.
Another great book is Dracula by Bram Stoker....just thought I would put that out there.
