Yes, a leader will choose the route. The question is, what’s wrong with the route we are on that we need a new one?

Nothing's wrong with the route. The only difference is a change in leadership, and that change in leadership is mandated by the Constitution. New leaders come with new ideas, new directions to go in, new ways forward.

What's new is the change in who's leading the country. A new leader brings different ideas when they're leading, which may not be the same as the previous one, even if that new leader helped the former one with his ideas.

As to the second question, there is nothing wrong with the current way forward, just that Kamala Harris isn't Joe Biden, and what she brings to the table as President won't be the same things Biden did.

You are, of course, free to disagree...and to not vote for her.

Harris' plans are new because she wasn't President before, and she's running for the job. As to why there will be a change who is President, that's mandated by the Constitution.
