Yeah, I noticed that too. Fox News is known for spreading propaganda. In this case, fox news used a snippet which cut out the context. In the full hearing the gentleman had earlier apologized for using the phrase "neoclanist party" to describe Democrats. The missing context is where Harris commented by saying it was assumed the gentleman was referring to the KKK. That part was cut out.

Figures FOX did that. In the hurry to criticize Harris, folks are grabbing at anything.

For those who are curious, the relevant section (where they first mention the clan) starts at 18:29, and then Harris' question comes at 37:00:

What's most galling about this it wasn't Harris comparing anybody to the klan. The subject only came up because Ronald Vitiello, the acting director of ICE, used that language in a tweet to describe the Democratic party.

Uhhh....

She asked him if he understands the discretionary nature of law enforcement blah blah blah mentions his words in a tweet blah blah blah....then asks if he's "aware of a perception" of ICE using their law enforcement authority as a vehicle for terror and intimidation....etc.

She definitely didn't directly compare the KKK to ICE....she sort of indirectly claimed that some people (whomever they are) see it that way...

If he were smarter....he would have said "yes, he would have written those words if no one was offended" and if she asks why....he can just say "because they aren't offensive".

There's been bad questions but rarely do they start "are you aware there's a perception"....

This is the real Harris, the one their trying to hide and back away from and gas light people. The reason Harris and Leftist like her compare ICE to the KKK is because fundementally they don't think anyone who enters a nation is doing so illegally. So they don't want anyone at the border stopping people no matter where they come from or who they are.

In fact they would rather help them, do everything even at the expense of locals to accommodate them.

Thats because fundementally Left Woke PC and DEI ideology believes that nations should not have borders and everyone should be able to mix in this great big DEI melting pot. In fact secretly they believe that some identities in that melting pot are more worthy than others. Whites, ICE agents, males, Police ect are usually not included or relegated to the bottom or even as Harris has shown made out to be the bad guys.

So obviously if you believe that illegal immigrants are not illegal than any border enforcement officer would logically be someone who is oppressing the victims and denying their rights because they are doing nothing wrong.

We see this same thinking in other statements Harris has made such as wanting to exhonerate all criminals who participated in the BLM riots because they were not criminals but victims rising up against the system of white police.

The same ideology was seen in how the Left were very reluctant and even supportive of the antisemetic protests and violence on campuses and even in government because Hamas were seen as victims and their violence was a right in protest against the oppressor Isreal.

So its ideologically based and that is the stark difference between the two positions where one is willing to conflate normal and needed security as being oppressive even compromising the safety of people and the other seeing it as an important part of national security.
