Couple of weeks ago Verse and Have Heart came to my town, Portland, as part of their summer US tour. Amazing, amazing show. I've seen Verse a couple of times, but Have Heart blew me away, just a great as I thought they'd be in person. Everyone got into both sets and thankfully there were no fights.

Kids Like Us is coming with Furious Styles pretty soon and then Grave Maker by the end of the month to Vancouver, WA.

Anywho, anybody else on the boards into hardcore, or am I all by myself on this one ;)

Word.

I like hardcore punk, though a lot of the bands I listen to have broken up, some in the 80's (Minor Threat, Black Flag, Teen Idles, Government Issue) and some more recently (Kid Dynamite, Trial by Fire, the Goons). My favorites of the ones that are still around are Alleged Bricks, With Honor, and Prevail Within.

There's also a small handful of full-blown hardcore bands I like. Again, some of them have broken up.

IMO, some of the best hardcore bands were the one's from the 80's and 90's. Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuits, Black Flag, and Sheer Terror are some of my favorite bands aswell.
Also, With Honor is an awesome band :D

They put on one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Which cd did you get? Because The Things We Carry is amazing, but I haven't given a listen to their newest cd, supposed to be awesome.

Yea, after all they'd be nothing without Christianity.

On topic: Earth Crisis!!!

Very, very good band. They've been around for a long long time, they've done along for vegan straight-edge hardcore :)

sorry for bumping this one :p i just had to. hardcore punk is my favorite music. i prefer 80s hardcore over newer hardcore. low quality sound, raw vox..yep nothing beats the 80s.
i listen to lots of different music, but hardcore/punk seems to be the only kind i can listen to anytime and anywhere.

I do so need to get more Agent Orange, Rites Of Spring, and Hüsker Dü (even if the latter two fall closer to Post-Hardcore - and by that I mean the 80s genre, not the bland alt-rock that record labels and teenyboppers use that term to describe nowadays).

I dunno why I keep putting that off.
