mixaleena,

re: “I would appreciate it if you would leave out the sarcasm. “

Sorry. I couldn’t help myself.

re: “I don't know there is much else to say on the subject without running in circles.”

I think that you are right since it appears that I am not able to get my point across.

However, I wonder if you might humor me by answering one more question. In order to improve my understanding about how people's minds work and why they may not see my point regarding belief, I wonder if you might answer the following:

You are a contestant on a game show. There are three curtains. Behind one of the curtains is a new car. You are asked to choose one of the curtains. Lets say that you choose curtain #1. The host of the show opens curtain #3 and there is no car behind it. The host now gives you a choice. You can stay with curtain #1 or you can change your choice to curtain #2. The question now is: would it be to your advantage to stay with curtain #1, or would it be to your advantage to change to curtain #2 or would there be no advantage either way?

mixaleena,

re: "In that situation you do not have enough information for their to be an advantage either way."

That would be incorrect. You have all the information you need to know that there is a 2/3rds chance that the car is behind curtain #2. It would therefore be to your advantage to switch.

I stick with my original answer.
As far as statistics, once door 3 is eliminated...there is only a 1 in 2 chance the car is behind door #2. Same 1 in 2 chance that the car is behind door #1.
But I don't believe in chance either way. I believe in the sovereignty of God.

As I said:

God will decide if you get the car or not.

I believe we have said all that needs to be said on the topic of the thread and now we are getting off topic, so I think it is time to move on...It was nice talking with you.

Mixee. :)

mixaleena,

Thank you for helping to validate my suspicion that someone who has difficulty seeing that there is a 2/3rds chance that the car is behind curtain #2 will also most likely have difficulty in grasping my point about belief.
