This is not going to be an easy Thanksgiving for my family.

One week ago, we buried my mother-in-law. Today, I buried my father.


However, I'm thankful knowing that they are in Heaven with God.

I'm thankful for the life they gave my wife and myself.

I'm thankful, that I have some one in heaven, praying for me.

I'm thankful for many things. Even in the midst of our country coming apart at the seams and the messes throughout the world, I have my family, my friends, my pets and my church to keep me relatively sane.

And BTW, my wonderful wife does do holidays in high style, somewhat akin to the cretin Martha Stewart, although without the pretense. China, crystal, linens, etc. So to all you eating off Chinette and drinking wine from a box, enjoy yours as I enjoy mine.

I'm sorry for your loss. I do hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving. And while this sounds hollow, we have the hope of seeing them again. This is just temporary but nonetheless a hard, sad time.
