  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've looked online to find out how normal it is for a infant to chew away at their hand & can't find much info. Latley Grace has been knawing like crazy & I kept thinking maye she is hungry but she woula have to be hungry all day because she does this almost all day. I read where it's a soothing thing but then when reading more it may be a teething thing due to her drooling now too. Has anyone experienced this?

It's perfectly normal.

Babies put things in their mouth all the time. It just happens to be her hands are there, so lets see what they taste like. Of course it could be teething. Neither of my kids as babies chewed on hands if they were hungry. They would just cry and let me know that way.

Have you looked at teething rings, or rattles that are safe to chew and suck on. They are usually easy to clean too. That way if she is teething, these will probably give more relief then her hands.

I think babies get to an age when they realise that their hands belong to them and they can move them about. Then they realise the satisfaction of putting them in their mouths.^_^ It's not always linked to teething IMO, just a normal part of development. I've seen a lot of two month olds do it, but a teething two month old is rare.

When my husband and I are not in the immediate vicinity my thee month old often puts his hands up in front of his face and stares at them as he moves them about.^_^

I knew babies put everything in their mouth but I think my information overload kicked in again with so many books saying different things. I do have her a rattle and a teething ring but she likes her hand better. :) With her it's hard to tell when she is hungry.
