No power ups.
And there is a pistol, but it is toned down, either by power or by the fact that you can not shoot while zoomed.

The questions is whether or not you can take out the power-ups in the case you want to customize your game. The Q and A is less than halfway down.

If you didn't hear it straight from Bungie, you might as well not have heard it at all.

When I say "took out the pistol" I actually meant they took away the effectiveness of it. There still is the pistol, although I believe its new name is the magnum and like you said, it lacks the zoom function.
