  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Can we as christians celebrate halloween? Some christians say yes while others say no? State your opinion and why..
I grew up with halloween. I never thought there was anything wrong with it. My Christian parents didn't either. However now I see it for what it really is. Virtual devil worship. I have to say that no it's not ok.

Well, I can only say that, growing up my family celebrated Halloween and it didn't take away MY salvation. However, being more informed about Halloween, if I ever have children, I think I'll let them go to an "Autumn Celebration" at a church, and dress up as something nice rather than doing the traditional thing.

I dont celebrate Halloween , because i was convicted by the Holy Spirit not to, and to not give glory to satan. I feel that is an invidual decision that needs to be prayed about .:prayer:

Im sure we all do many things every day that does not glorify God...Im just not seeing how people can perceive halloween as evil unless they choose to let it be evil.

Im just not following how 5 year olds are worshipping satan by dressing up as kittens and eating candy...

I know how you feel but if Jesus were here would He be making plans to celebrate with you?

http://logosresourcepages.org/idx_halloween.htm

I mean I use to take my kids out too and couldn't see depriving them of this fun night...till I realised that this was an abomination to God and He Hates this day....

I know it has to be something that God shows you by his Spirit so please don't feel like I am judging, as I am just sharing my experience...like I said I was doing this in my past so who am I to judge?

If Jesus were here, I think that He'd be making plans to celebrate every day with us. God makes every day - each day is an opportunity for us to celebrate God and enjoy His creation, including October 31. I really don't think that God hates that day. I'm sure that He hates some of the things that are done by some people on that day - but then I'm sure that He hates some of the things that are done by some people every other day of the year too.

Psalm 118:24 This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

That verse applies just as much to October 31 as to any other day of the year.
