Yeah, Halloween is my 2nd fave holiday (after Christmas). I LOVE haunted houses, I love screaming my head off, I love spooky everything. I love hayrides, I love apple cider and ginger snaps, I love corn mazes, I love pumpkins and colored leaves and chilly air. Autumn/Halloween totally rocks my world.

I so wish I had someone to share it all with.

I really like seeing the kids dressed in costumes and handing out candy to them. It always brings a smile to my face to see little ones enjoying the holiday.

What I don't like about halloween is the idiots who use it as an excuse to terrorize people with egging and other stupid pranks. I have seen to many broken windows, ruined paint jobs, injuries, etc... from people behaving like idiots on this day.

Again, it has the potential to be a great holiday. My parents church does a thing where they line the parking lot with cars and they do a Trunk or Treat where people give out candy at the cars. Parents from the neighborhoods bring their kids by to do a safe trick or treating there. Pretty cool set up.

I think I have a football game on halloween this year. Maybe my treat will be a win!! But I really doubt it....

I love dressing up. Halloween is great because it gives me an excuse to play dress up! :ebil:

I loved Trick or Treating and wish I could still do it. I always liked it better than the harvest festivals/Trunk or Treat things.

My only problem with Halloween is Dots. Dots are like the fruitcake of Halloween.

I live for this day! When I was a kid, I'd start planning and creating my costume and decor during summer, way before back to school time. One year when I was too old to go around the houses, my friend and I made a coffin for my front yard. I wore an old renaissance dress and lay inside like I was dead. Whenever the older kids who were ruining everything came around, they would come over to check me out and I'd scare the poop out of them!

This year my bf and I are having a party for his birthday - We're going as Morticia and Gomez Addams. Le poster:

I LOVE this idea! I'm going to email it to my church.

We have some really great folks around the small town I live in, who go all out on Halloween and really make their houses uber-spooky! I kinda feel bad for people who live in urban sprawl on Halloween...there is just nothing that compares to trick-r-treating in an old Colonial town, with the towering old trees and big Victorian houses and iron fences (automatically spooky!). Trick-r-treating in some spread out, tree-less development just sounds...blah...I don't even think I'd wanna do it.

Anyway - there's this one house that sets up their whole backyard in a haunted walk-through, and it's SCARY! They use tents and tunnels and the whole thing is pitch-black, and last year this dude with a chainsaw about scared Josh to death, lol. He was really nice though, when he saw that he was being too scary, he stepped back and let us escape.

Some Halloween images to get you in the mood!!!

I saw something the other day - a pumpkin decorating kit with stick-on facial features, like Mr Potato Head, that you could mix and match. It was surprisingly cute! And no carving needed. Of course, you can't put a candle in it and make it spooky...so maybe it just sucks after all.

Anyone else roast the pumpkin seeds after you gut the pumpkin? My grandma used to do that for us. I loved those things.

i like to dress up as movie things. Once in college, we had a costume party and my hall went as various things from the wizard of oz. I was the emerald city and i wore a lime green sequined dress and any other sparkly green thing i could find. It was great fun.
