Half Life 2 errors

Ok, this game was working fine up until the Santraps level.

Now, both in Half Life2 and Counterstrike, I get the 'Memory could not be "read"' error message, complete with wonderful sound looping, at random points. I then have to quit Half Life2, or if that doesn't work, I have to restart the PC.

Perhaps it's the update that has caused it, as it used to work fine and only recently has it gone to ****.

Please may a do something to express my anger?

Looks like a lot of people are having this issue my friend. Without the exact error, and your system specs, I can only hazard the guess that you have either the bleeding edge in drivers ( read unstable ) or an outdated driver for your Video. If you have the latest and greatest in Vid drivers, go back 1 version. If not then you will have to check what the latest is out there and try it out. If your driver is *really* old try the version just before the latest.

It sounds like they tried to dereference the null pointer...in laymen's terms: bad programming. Only thing to do is wait for it to be patched.
