In general, lamb (and all game) needs spices/herbs like cinnamon, cumin, rosemary, dill, etc. to remove the gaminess. (Even though the Hebrews knew how to make lamb, it was a point to hit home when God told the Hebrews to get lamb and bitter herbs and eat them...salting the herbs in water. It would take care of the gaminess.) Both of you are right, obviously. Just different sides of the coin.

If you make goat or a lamb without these type of spices, no matter how good of a chef you are it will have a "funk" taste - that is the gaminess. Some people like that. I knew someone that said they liked goat meat cooked as is, and as old as cotton. YUCK!

I usually use a cinnamin, cumin and dill rub for my lamb or game. Mustard crusts work nicely for lamb chops .

yes, but lamb is also greasy.. spices help, but I like to use salted lemons, or juniper, or tamarind or similar to cut the fat.

Anyway my point was, Halal in the UK frequently IS stunned, and there is no reason why it can't be, unlike for Kosher. Therefore, even as an atheist, I have no problem with the idea of Halal meat so long as I know a little bit more as well.

What is the logic for boycotting the product of a religion as it financially is not going to affect the religion.

"Islam" does not make any money off of halal products. Non-Muslims for the most part are the ones making a profit by selling Halal products.

Could you show evidence that any halal product in the USA is generating funds for terrorists?

Do you really know how closely the US government monitors every organization that even looks Islamic in the USA.

Most Muslims in the USA can't even sneeze without homeland security knowing about it.

Many people seem to be under the impression there is some sort of "Islamic Organization" that oversees all Muslims and make money from Mosques. We don't tithe. We do pay Zakat, but we give that to any Charity of our choosing. Here in the USA most of us give our Zakat to local Charities.

That is true. We are not permitted to pay interest on a loan. We are not able to use conventional banks for loans. However many non-Islamic banks are figuring out how to do La Riba (La Riba is Arabic for No Interest) loans and many non-Islamic Banks are beginning to offer La Riba loans.

Former President Carter was on Steve Colbert show the other night talking about how Habitat for Humanity makes interest-free loans because "the Bible says you shouldn't charge interest to poor people."

Does buying Kosher certified food support Israel?

You might have religious reasons to not want Halal food.That is understandable.
