Hades is Grave

Comparing the Septuagint to the Masoretic, in the Old Testament. The word Hades in the Septuagint is the grave in the Masoretic text. So therefore the correct translation into English would be "grave."
While Sheol/Hades has been translated as "the grave" several times in the KJV (based on the Masoretic Text), obviously it is not the grave. It is the abode of the departed souls and spirits of the dead (presently only the unrighteous dead).

So while the body goes into the literal grave, the soul and spirit go to Sheol/Hades. Thus Christ's body was in the tomb for three days and three nights, but His soul and spirit were in Hades (unfortunately translated as "hell"). Thus we have this Scripture prophesying the resurrection of Christ:

Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell [in Hades], neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption [in the tomb] (Acts 2:27).

I've always known Hades to be the place spoken of in
Luke 16:19 The Rich Man and Lazarus.

It's where the dead went to await the sacrifice of Jesus,,,it's known also as Abraham's Bossom.
Luke 16:32

Those souls were released to heaven when the veil of the temple was torn.
Mathew 27:51

Mathew 27:51
I give thanks to you Heavenly Father for hearing my complaint.

The Rich Man and Lazarus
Luke 16:19. "There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

Wealth, comfort, poverty, and suffering have nothing to do with a person’s salvation.

22"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'

The word messenger is replaced with the word angel. And assuming that this is a parable, there would be no need for Lazarus to be carried to Abraham, before the resurrection. As for being in Hell and torment and agony; that contradicts the verse that says the dead know nothing. It also is a contradiction where scripture says that Yahwah kills the condemned. In regards to the water on the finger; that would evaporate before it even got to a person.

25"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'

Again I say to you that wealth and poverty has nothing to do with the resurrection of the righteous. There is one truth in all of this, and that there is a chasm that has been set in place; and that is called death of the condemned, which are killed by Yahwah. There is no life for them afterward.

27"He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'

29"Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'

30" 'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'
31"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "

These are obviously the words of a dim wit, and not the words of an ancient being. No place in these verses is credit given to Yahwah, but only to Moses and the prophets; which would be unlike Yahshua to exclude the Father in matters of life and death.

Hell is a pagan belief and part of the Pagan religion. Why would Yahshua use a nonexistent biblical teaching for which he never explains afterward? Before the return from Babylon, Judaism never taught the concept of hell. But after the return from Babylon, the Hellenistic and Kabbalistic Jews began to introduce Hell into Judaism.

Yahshua never identified the story as a parable, and never explained the relevance as he did in other legitimate parables.
Yahshua, being an ancient being full of knowledge and wisdom, would have had the good sence to explain the new concept. Obviously the story of “The Rich Man and Lazarus” is the words of some man introducing the Pagan concept of Hell.

Genesis 18:25
Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?"

Luke 20:16
"What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others." When the people heard this, they said, "May this never be!"

Ecclesiastes 9:5
For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten.

Revelation 20:14
Then death and Hades (Grave) were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.

Revelation 21
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."
6 He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This (That) is the second death."

Just a reminder that it was the Catholic Church that canonized scripture.

There is only one time that you can be in the bosom of Abraham and that is in the City of God, which is after the second resurrection when the city of God comes down and the hordes of hades are resurrected in their corrupted state to gather at its gates for their judgment announcement. Then the city of God floats of the Lake of Fire made for the devils and ilk.

The day of the Lord has already come?
So did the 1,000 year reign already pass?
I missed it?
And now what era are we in?
Let me say this:
You're talking about things that make no sense to me.
I have enough trouble talking to people about things I'm sure about.
But I wish the love of God upon you.

That is not correct. The Hebrew word Sheol always means "grave," and never Hades or Hell.
The grave is where the dead body is laid to rest.

Therefore Sheol cannot possible always mean "the grave". If Hades always meant "the grave" then where would the souls and spirits of the dead go? Indeed while the body of the Lord Jesus Christ was lying in the sepulchre of Joseph of Arimathea, His soul and spirit were in Hades.

Please note carefully that Sheol in the OT is Hades in the NT, and it is the place of the departed dead (while their bodies lie in the grave). In the KJV Sheol is translated as (1) the grave, (2) hell. and (3) sheol.

PSALM 16:10

King James 2000 Bible
For you will not leave my soul in sheol; neither will you allow your Holy One to see corruption.

Strong's Concordance
sheol: underworld (place to which people descend at death)
Original Word: שְׁאוֹל
Part of Speech: Noun Feminine
Transliteration: sheol
Phonetic Spelling: (sheh-ole')
Short Definition: Sheol

ACTS 2:27
ὅτι οὐκ ἐγκαταλείψεις τὴν ψυχήν μου εἰς ᾅδου, οὐδὲ δώσεις τὸν ὅσιόν σου ἰδεῖν διαφθοράν

King James 2000 Bible
Because you will not leave my soul in hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see corruption.

So what does Luke 16:32 mean?

Genesis 2:7
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Please note that it takes dust of the ground and a breath of life from God to make a "living soul". When dust returns to dust and the breath of life returns to God, the soul is no more. There is no dead soul. It ceases to exist. When God resurrects from the dust with His breath, they once again become a living soul.

Isaiah 64:8 says. "But now, O Lord. Thou art our Father; we are the clay. and Thou our Potter: and we all are the work of Thy hand."

James 2;26 ". . . as the body, without the spirit (i.e. the breath of life), is dead..."

Dead is without life, and there is no life after death without the resurrection. Ezekiel 37 is about the dry bones of Israel becoming alive again. We learn that the dry bones will have sinews and flesh put upon them, and then skin will cover the bones, and then God will put breath in them, "and (they) shall live." Notice the order in returning to life. Psalms 146:4 states: "His [man] breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish."

Look at Adam "And breathed into his nostrils the breath of life" - notice that it was the breath of life that caused Adam to live. The body was formed but it was lifeless. God caused breath to enter into the nostrils of Adam and he lived. When the breath of life was to be withdrawn God told Adam that he would return ...Gen 3:19 "unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." God never said that he would continue to live in heaven with Him after death.

You want to live forever then eat from the "tree of life" that was placed in the Garden of God. Its purpose was to produce the fruit that Adam could eat in order for him to "live forever" (Gen. 3:22)... and as Rev indicates after it is all over, in the New Jerusalem we will eat of it.

Timothy 6:16 says that Yeshua Christ is the only one "Who hath immortality." It is at the first resurrection that immortality will be put on by those that "sleep in Yeshua" (1 Cor. 15:53).

You didn't speak to Luke 16:19-31.
I don't believe in soul sleep.
We're either alive or dead.
I do wish Jesus had been more clear but He did mention hell many times.
Mathew 22:13
For instance.
You believe He meant at the end of time?
Why?

Catholic Gnosticism.

The attitude of the Catholic Church toward paganism is best summed up by Pope Gregory the Great, in his words to a missionary: “You must not interfere with any traditional belief or religious observance that can be harmonized with Christianity.”

Pope Gregory 540 – 12 March 604.

Not only were the Congregations divided by Gnosticism, but enticed by philosophy and paganism also, and there were geographic divisions as well.

Just a reminder that it was the Catholic Church that canonized scripture.

If death and the grave, or even Hades is done away with, then how can there be anyone ALIVE in Hades.

This is a copy and paste.
I don't use this method ever.
I'M speaking to you, not someone to whom you've already replied.

Jesus spoke of hell many times.
I understand that there are many who do not believe in hell.
This has nothing to do with salvation which is my only concern, and thus not something I care to debate.

I wonder if you're a b eliever in soul sleep or an annihalist, but in the end it really doesn't matter.

We'll all find out when we get there and we will not be saved by our doctrine---thank God for that.

You didn't speak to Luke 16:19-31.
I don't believe in soul sleep.
We're either alive or dead.
I do wish Jesus had been more clear but He did mention hell many times.
Mathew 22:13
For instance.
You believe He meant at the end of time?
Why?
Because it is "reserved" for bad angels on judgement day.
Jude 1:6
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Who is peddling crazy?
These words are not in the bible:
Trinity
Incarnation
Rapture
and some others that don't come to mind right now.

The only place in the bible that translates to hell is in
2 Peter 2:4...So, does that mean that hell (for humans) does not exist?

I know that the word for hell was translated incorrectly since the translators took all the words for "hell" and just used that one word.

I also know that Jesus spoke to the concept of hell, and fire and burning of the branches and weeping and gnashing, etc.

If God can blot you out of the Book of Life, it means you end up with death. Maybe you'll be in hell, maybe you'll be annihalated, but this is for sure: You won't be with God.
Universalism is also false.

And now I'll leave YOU to peddle crazy...

Revelation 21:8
Mathew 10:28
Mathew 13:50 JESUS speaking
Mathew 25:41 JESUS speaking
Mathew 25:46 JESUS speaking
Mark 9:43 JESUS speaking
2 Thessalonians 1:9
Jude 1:7

and many more...

Yes. Jude 1:6 is saying that the angels are in a dark place awaiting judgement for the Lake of Fire.

But if you move to verse 7, it states that Sodom and Gemorrah, which would be the people since cities don't go to hell, because of sexual ruin, just like them - the angels - are another example, burning and never burning up (eternal) they are as another example.

So here, again, we read about persons going to eternal punishment, and I also posted other verses in my post no. 18;
here they are again:

Revelation 21:8
Mathew 10:28
Mathew 13:50 JESUS speaking
Mathew 25:41 JESUS speaking
Mathew 25:46 JESUS speaking
Mark 9:43 JESUS speaking
2 Thessalonians 1:9
Jude 1:7

Do you believe that Christ and the disciples promoted Pagan myths? The word used in 2 Peter 2:4 is Tartarus.

In the Iliad (c. 700 BC), Zeus asserts that Tartarus is "as far beneath Hades as heaven is above earth." While according to Greek mythology the realm of Hades is the place of the dead, Tartarus also has a number of inhabitants.
In Greek mythology, Tartarus was both a primordial deity that existed before the Olympians, as well as a name to describe a region of the Underworld. As a god, he was third in rank after Chaos and Gaea, preceding Eros.
