  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I went through past posts and was wondering if this is the same little girl who had indications of hemorrhaging/fractured bones in the general area of the sternum. Didn't she ever make it to the vet?

I'm so sorry. My prayers are with you that Jesus will be with you in your time of sorrow. Our pets can be very much like our family. I have a cat who is 13 years old and I dread the day that she dies. I've had her since she was a kitten.

No we were planning to take her to the vet but didnot make it. I talked to a vet on the phone and was told nothing could be done so we left it.

Umm.... would you provide me or a local (for you) rescue organization with the name of the DVM, the title of his/her practice, and their exact location? There are a truckload of people who would love to jump down this vet's throat. Not only are they most-likely uncertified to even be seeing aves, they couldn't possibly, even remotely have been assured of what was wrong without physical examination. This is absolute ignorance and negligence on their behalf if they told you "nothing could be done." If that bird survived this long after initial signs then there is not an illness/injury in the world she could have acquired that was beyond repair, especially in regards to the display of ailments you witnessed in her. Not to mention, she was a baby, a toddler, which means resilient to begin with. What a terrible tragedy was bestowed on her. If I were you I'd call my phone company for the documents that prove you called the vet and order a necropsy through a nearby university and perhaps even locate a lawyer, and then you need to have a talk with this so-called vet.

Oh, my prayers for you tonight that God will heal your heart. It is really nice she died in your hand instead of alone in her cage. God bless you.

I really think there is a place in heaven for all our pets. I have a little calico cat named Maggie McMuffin O'Reilly. As a baby, she had the bluest Irish eyes I ever saw on a kitten. That's how she got her name. She's eight now. I've had her since she opened her eyes and bottle fed her. She thinks I'm her real cat mommy. She loves when I pick her up and dance with her. Can't bear the thought of her not being in heaven when I get there. I have 24 other cats as I have a no-kill cat shelter, but Maggie is very special.
