Reported Gunshor Incidents = 80 dead and 218 injured
The Las Vegas mass shooter owned his guns legally and even owned only legal extensions and ammunition for them yet he shot and killed 58 people and caused the wounding and/or injury of another 500 people. Even if every last one of those 500 and more people was carrying a holstered gun they would still have been shot and the shooter would still have been safe. The truth is that people only rarely carry a gun ready to "stop the bad guys". That's just a fantasy.
That's right. Tell me exactly which mass shooters did not have a legal gun.
No, they would buy them back and then destroy them. Hardly anybody needs a gun.Suppose that was done. What do you think the government would do from that point? Do you think they'd allow people to continue to own their firearms for whatever purpose they own them for?
He shot himself long before anybody broke into his hotel room.Who stopped him; unarmed hostage negotiators
or people with guns? Even if he killed himself, it
was only to avoid being arrested or killed by cops.
It does violate my values but the reason to get rid of it is because it is such a stupid "right".Yes, because it violates the "GingerBeer's approval" clause.
Probably not, but nobody knew he had them there. The guns were legal, he had a license for them. He took them in and nobody saw him do it. Probably in cases or something that concealed them. And now Mr shooter, legal owner of 23 guns, had 12 of them to shoot people from his hotel room window.Did the Vegas shooter have them legally in his motel room?
Is it legal to shoot other people? Every mass shooter and killer
broke the law. Most stole or illegally bought the guns they used.
Las Vegas mass shooting only lasted 11 minutes. Knowing where he was would not have ended it in 11 minutes or less. Anyway, not having a gun would have stopped him doing it in the first place. Repeal the second amendment and get rid of guns except for people who really have a good reason to have one and even then keep the guns in a safe separated from their firing mechanism and from ammunition. separate safes, locked and inspected every few months by the police.
With all that in place, how does a person defend himself against an already armed intruder in their home? (That's right, the intruder will not have his gun disassembled from their firing mechanism and from ammunition.)
Hi DaveNot sure where you get your numbers.
as of noon eastern time, for the last 5 days I have 4 dead and 18 wounded.

With the crazies in the congress and the even crazier crazies in the white house you're right. Wait until next time ... maybe the USA will have a sane president then.Repealing an amendment requires approval from every state.
Plus once you agree to change the constitution, the process
allows for changing any aspect of the constitution. The constitution
has no "limited access" clause allowing for limited changes.
So your suggestion is not an option. Allowing changes to the
constitution is currently to dangerous to attempt.
I am super excited that you're convinced. That was way easier than expected!Well then, that’s totally different. I’m convinced.
I propose that we require all guns be manufactured with
various piezoelectric radio transmitters. This would
be a variety of "nuggets" formed into the barrel and
stock that will emit radio frequency bursts resulting
from shock, vibration, or impact.
This should be required within 5 years. The requirement
would result in development of the needed technology.
This would allow anyone to identify the location of gunfire.
Hotel owners and anti-sniper personnel.
This would affect the lone legal shooter as well as street
guns (unless imported illegally). But likely street guns
would not be illegal imports.
So only illegal imports would be unable to locate unless
the shooter wrapped the gun in a seperate blocking blanket.
Still lethal, but much more trouble.
These could emit serial numbers for each gun, but I'd
be willing to negotiate on that.
We could relax background checks on legal purchases
in exchange for tracking where shots were fired.
Edit: Used guns could be refurbished.
My proposal does increase the control of people who fire guns.
As long as your firing of a gun is lawful, then you have freedom
to use it any way you wish. When I hear gun-fire in my city
I am PRETTY sure the gunfire is not legal. And as a citizen
,I'd like to be able to locate the shooter within seconds.
I feel that locating gunfire is a right that is equal to the
shooters right to carry. Please provide your argument out
of that.
If we criminalize the illegal use of guns, that will help.
Same for knives if you wish.
Gun control advocates claim their goal is to protect people from being murdered. OK. They claim that taking away guns from everyone will prevent people from being murdered.
But the numbers simply don't bear that out.
If guns were the actual problem then the math would prove that.
America has the highest per capita gun ownership of any nation by far at 112 guns per 100 citizens. That's due to people like me who own around 20 (I've lost count).

So, the country with the highest number of guns should also be the country with the highest rate of murder, right? And if we want to prevent people from being murdered, then we should take away all the guns, right?
But America isn't the country with the highest rate of murder; not by a long shot...
That distinction goes to El Salvador with 108.64 murders per 100,000 citizens...
View attachment 209808
America is way down the list with a rate of 4.88 murders per 100,000 citizens...

Well, if the gun control advocates are correct in their theory that more guns equal more homicides, then El Salvador must have an insanely high number of guns per capita, similar to the US, right?
Nope.
Not even close. They are number 89 on the list of countries and per capita gun ownership with 5.88 guns per 100 citizens...

Hmmm...
So, if you use logic and rational thought and reasoning, then it would seem that there really isn't a correlation between more citizens owning guns and more homicides in a society. Arguing such is simply an emotional and irrational fear-based response.
I don't recall anywhere in the Bible that Jesus blamed inanimate objects or their easy availability as a cause of sin, which murder is, really. No, Jesus blamed people's hearts. So it troubles me to see so many self-identified Christians as completely ignoring scripture and the teachings of Jesus to seek to take away the rights of millions to defend themselves and their loved ones against those with murder in their hearts.
