The 74-year-old Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion said he had suffered a “minor stroke” in the UK on Saturday but had already returned home from hospital.
http://jewishbusinessnews.com/2016/02/12/richard-dawkins-suffers-minor-stroke/

Forget connterfactual hypotheticals (like "he woul'd have had a stoke even if we had not done this or that rather than what we did")....

We're all to blame. Everything is connected...

In human affairs at least?

Well, if his chatter about Godlessness are to blame, as no doubt some will assert, then so was other peoples praying for the good of his soul. But is that really the case?

Such assertions in any case say more about us than they do about God. People will say.

Theology is anthropology (we project our thoughts etc onto God). If we hate him, God tried to kill him or sent a warning etc.

Youre just phantasizing, the analysit will argue.

Personally I believe in the combinatorial effects of vibes!

Get well soon Richard!

At 74, having a small stroke is not unexpected. I had a major one at 33, and you can bet your back teeth that was unexpected! I, however, have never been an atheist, nor have I made the kind of claims Dawkins has. I really hope people will sensibly chalk Dawkins' stroke up to "sometimes stuff happens" rather than gleefully pouncing on it to shriek "See! we told you God would smite you! He let you live to give you a chance to repent!".

*sigh*

Guess which one I think is more likely?

C'mon let's be fair. When Chris Hitchens was diagnosed with cancer some expected a flood of "Sees!", but there was a much larger flood of condolences from Christians. And there are stories like Patrick Greene's which are much more common: huffingtonpost/christians-pay-medical-bills-for-atheist-protestor

What about intending harm (or benifit) spiritually?

I think dreams are conscious, because they have an adaptive function as conscious dreams. Thats valid. if they werent useful as conscious dreams, why would evolution have selected them.

Unless... theyre a "spandrel".

So what about intending (or praying etc)...

Isnt there an analogy?

Our body is like a ship, you are the captain and the rest is the crew and passengers.

Truth is what gives them life. Lies are what kill them.

So be very very careful on what you believe to be the truth.....
