  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

okay so a few of you have said turn from your sin....I'm just asking questions here, because I am curious...
so what if you sin again, does this mean you were not saved?
No it means you are human. Turning from your sin is not a one time event it happens continually.

Hi Peteey

To answer your questions about guilt. Guilt let's us know when we have done something wrong. Now that we know we have done something wrong we can try to correct it as best as we can.

As far as being saved. When i hear that or read that it to me it imply's that a person has no stain of sin on their soul and that they have become perfect like Jesus and should be in heaven, but of course they are not.

In the Catholic Church when one is baptised as an adult it removes all sin. It brings a person to the state that Adam and Eve where before they sinned. This what we call redemption. Also when that happens the process of sanctification starts.

Sanctification to put it simply is to become Christlike. Becoming Chrislike is a life long process. We sin we ask forgiveness and try to fix things as best as we can and learn from it and see how that lesson can brings us closer to God and helps us become more Christlike.

Is Christianity based upon guilt? Feeling guilty for our sins, and thus repenting from them?
it is my opinion that if we, as Christians feel guilty, it's not from God. God convicts His own. Guilt comes from the devil

the church are those "called" unto the kingdom of God, we are "called" through the Holy Spirit, having a consience to please God, we seek God,

we are then given "faith", knowledge that Jesus Christ is the only Savior, and that He is our savior,

it's not so much as "guilt", but a wanting to please God and seek Him,

true repentance is not our choice,

God wants all the church to "come unto repentance", repentance is the "knowledge" that saves us,

we must "keep the commandments of Jesus Christ" before we can come "unto repentance,

it's God that gives us this "knowledge" that saves us from darkness, or deciet,

we can only move toward God if he allows it, Jesus says that He chooses us, we do not choose Him,

in the beginning of our walk, it is our consience that wants to please God that moves us toward God, understanding what is God's law and what is not,

i pray that all in the church seek to see what this means,

continue to seek truth diligently,

speaking truth by the Holy Spirit,
