  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

next year im going to be a Bible teacher leader for a Christian group at college. the group is called "icthus" and the students who come are multi-denominational; the school is catholic based, even though im not catholic and neither are a lot of students that go there. i just pray that God will bless icthus (and the other Christian group on campus, FCA) with unity, and not allow our disagreements on doctrine to get in the way of fellowship - but also give me the boldness strength and eloquence to speak the truth of the Bible, never water-downed, in such a way as to make the truth known, even if it steps on denomination's toes, but not hinder the fellowship and unity in the group.

thanx!

If God were to call me to do what you are suggesting, it would have to be a very very very LOUD call. Either that or I would have to be masochistic. I, personally, have never seen the Bible successfully taught without a "slant".
And a Catholic and non-Catholic slant is very different. Besides that when you are talking non-Catholic, you are talking as many different slants as there are denominations. So if your group has 15 non-Catholics, you will likely have 15 different slants, plus the Catholic one. hmmmm! I would not like to teach that class, but I would love to sit in on a couple just to watch.

I think the MAJOR emphasis here must be on fellowship and friendship. This awesome challenge will require great love and devotion and dedication, and my prayer is for lasting, loving relationships to spring forth from this effort.

I know, I have found on THIS Board, some awesome Catholics and non-Catholics, and one "Atheist" who is the coolest of the cool. The fellowship is sweet and I have found it easy to love and care for these people. The great thing about this board is that it mirrors life. What works here, will work out there. It just requires that desire and dedication. His Peace and Blessings to you.
