  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Do you find that pre-birth weight estimates tend to be accurate, over there? I know a number of women who were told an approximate birth weight, only to find out that baby was 2-3 pound lighter or heavier than estimated.
I was also told this too while pregnant. But I have to tell you - I had an u/s the morning I went into labor. They estimated him at 6 lbs 9 ozs. He was born the following morning. 6 lbs 9 ozs. Weird!

They also told me his head would be too big and he was going to be huge (he was a good size for being over 4 weeks early). OB said I might have a c-section, but as I was planning for a natural birth I rejected that idea. That being said, it is up to you how you want to do it!

He could be 10 pounds, don't they gain a pound a week by then?

HB
I believe it's half a pound and the key word is "could be" :). The sono could be off or he just might not gain that much who knows. It's in God's hands.

Well one thing that sprang to mind when i read your first post is someone i used to work with. Her sister was a little under 5 foot and she was a british size 6 (so a 2 in the US i think).

She gave birth to a 13lb baby. She had no problems and didn't have one stitch. It's not always the head that weighs alot.
They didn't say the head weighed anything, it's about the size of his head/shoulders and the size of my pelvis as well as how he's lying. It's a combo of things :).

After much prayer and talking with a lot of mothers I am quite confident with my decision. I appreciate the advice but my decision is made and I believe it is best for me and my baby in our circumstance. I may be a first time mom but I am not clueless on the subject :).

HOLY COW! A thirteen pound baby! Ouch!

I know mommies gain a pound a week the last month, but I don't think it is all baby. I think singin4him is right, maybe 1/2 lb. per week.

Singin...I know you and hubby will make whatever decision is best for you and baby! It is great that you have educated yourself in that area. I am anxious to see where Justin stands!!!! Praying for you always sis!
