My first marriage I only expected to be loved, to have children and to be others mates. I didn't come from a family with very good marriage morals, so I wasn't sure what to expect.

What I got far exceeded what I could have ever have expected. Not only was he my mate, my lover, husband, father of our daughter, but he was also my bestfriend, my supporter, my strength and my happiness.

Sadly i thought all marriages were like this, so when I went into my second marriage (after my first had passed away) I thought it would be as blissful. I go into things now trying NOT to hold any expectations. If you don't have any expectations you can't be too disappointed.

I expect my marriage will continue to get better if my wife and I continue to both treat it (and each other) as the precious, God given treasure we are. We will have hurdles to overcome, some big, others smaller, --- such is life. But, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Praise God.

I think I expected that 2 believers getting married would agree on most everything and would disagree very little.

Also, I don't know I expected as much as just took for granted that sex would never be an issue in marriage. I mean sex within marriage would be a normal ongoing occuring thing on a regular basis, right. Never crossed my mind it would ever be otherwise.

We all get married with expectations in marriage otherwise we would stay single.
