Group B Strep +

I tested positive for group B strep. I guess I'm not too worried since I know with antibiotics through an IV that my baby has a good chance of not getting it. But it does make me more nervous about making sure I get to the hospital early enough (they stress the importance of this since it takes a while for the antibiotics to take effect), and also because I am trying for a natural birth and I'm worried that the IV will make it harder to relax and to move around like I was hoping. Of course, I'm glad to have the IV since it will protect my baby. I'm just wondering how this will change things.

I was hooked up to an IV with my first pregnancy. It did limit somethings - I was unable to use the whirlpool but I was still able to get up and down and move around a bit. Even though I was hooked up I still had a natural childbirth.

That's good to hear. My midwife also said that they will use a lock that allows me to not have to necessarily be hooked up to the IV tube the whole time. So I'm feeling a little better about it.
