  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This first one. The Dark World is good, too, but the first one is the best IMO.

I'm excited about the new movie. I think it's supposed to come out this year sometime.

Okay good.

The first one is a stroke of genius, Kenneth Branagh absolutely nailed it with the ethereal interpretation of Asgard and the Shakespearean dialogue. Personally I think The Dark World was a travesty, especially with how it pivoted away from the first film in such a conspicuous way, I'll never forgive Alan Taylor for that one.

Ragnarok is going to be awesome though! It has shades of Flash Gordon to it and I think it's going to be awesome.

Agreed. The first one is awesome and I think Branagh made it look easy. The Dark World was a major misstep.
Looking forward to Ragnarock (that's probably something that wasn't said often :tonguewink:)

Luckily for Taika Waititi, the bar was lowered pretty far by Alan Taylor, so I think people will enjoy Ragnarok no matter what. I just don't know how Taylor could take the design concept of Asgard from a heavenly-esque realm to something that basically just looks like just another planet. For shame.

Indeed, I'm looking forward to Ragnarok. Hopefully it redeems the franchise, and I think it will. Since people enjoy a more humorous side of Thor, and yet they're still going to get every bit of his "mightiness".

I just got back from the Bahamas. I was there last week for the first time for my friend's wedding. The beaches are incredible :)

Is it expensive to have a wedding there? Other than airfare of course. My sister wants to marry in Hawaii and I'm like, "Ya'll aren't rich enough for that" lol

I like how Marvel isn't afraid to change things up. Like Winter Soldier was vastly different from the first Cappy film. And having characters quit, leave, turn against each other, etc. The evolution is very interesting to watch. Obviously some things are going to change in Ragnarock, so I'm excited.

The Bahamas are expensive islands. I found that any excursions available were very overpriced and the meals off the resort seemed a bit costly. I never got to go swim with the friendly pigs since they were going to charge $500 to transport me to that Island, lol.

However, my friend getting married said that her destination wedding was much cheaper than her wedding would have been in Canada. The resort takes care of most of the details and it's a wedding package. Your sister should consider a wedding at an all inclusive resort. I don't think Hawaii has any all inclusive resorts ( from what others have told me)

I agree. They weren't afraid to drop Terrance Howard and go with Don Cheadle to play Rhodey, for example. I gotta tell ya, I am THRILLED with the directorial styles of the Russo brothers (Winter Soldier & Civil War). I'm beyond psyched that they're directing Infinity War and it's sequel. They have a dark, earthy tone to their narratives that works wonders for the superhero genre. It's just spectacular.

The great thing about Waititi's style in Ragnarok, is it will really distinguish it as it's own thing. We're all aware of it's place within the MCU, but this will really define the Thor franchise again like Branagh did with the first installment. A neat byproduct of what we've seen of the aesthetic in Ragnarok is that it'll tie in with Guardians of the Galaxy to a much better extent, which is a nice continuity element because the Guardians are supposed to appear in Infinity War.

lol All the trends I don't agree with popped into my head and I realized it often boils down to a lack of modesty.

We have hit new lows. The newest summer 2017 trend is wearing lingerie (think silky teddy) as a dress. I am so confused that I don't know where to begin. When it is lacy, made of silk and doesn't cover 80% of your body you can't toss a leather jacket over top and call it a "look". I want to lecture some of these girls, but all that would come out is "what are you doing?!" And I don't think that would be very productive... *exhale* done.

6) What is your occupation? Secretary

I've worked as a secretary until last year for two years.

It is the MOST mentally and psychologically demanding job I ever had! Especially when you have to work for jerks! Sorry for the rant.

Your favourite movie is a Marvel movie?! A woman after my own heart.:swoon:

...But I'm guessing you like it for different reasons than me. ^_^

Strangely, I find Marvel Movies seem like a "feel-good" movie.

If I want something to twist my mind, I'll probably watch an "artsy" film. If I want to have a blast at eating popcorn or any unhealthy snack, I watch Marvel!
