Greyhound adoption

Let me encourage anyone who is interested to adopt a retired greyhound. They make the most wonderful companions. Our girl is 6 years old this month and is a real joy. She is lazy and sleeps alot, doesn't require alot of room, and loves to snuggle and kiss us.

I would love a greyhound. They seem to be great dogs. That's definitely something I'm going to look into next time I'm looking for a dog.

I've thought about adopting a greyhound. Is it true that they are put down when they aren't competitive race dogs anymore? If so, that is so sad.

I have two rescues, a Dandie Dinmont Terrier, and a Border Collie mix. Both are wonderful pets!

Depends if they have a kennel where they can be adopted. Yes, in some cases, they are put down. I'm a huge greyhound fan

We're seriously looking at getting a rescued greyhound when we do finally get a dog. The only problem is that I'm going to have to put a sweater on it during the winter - something I swore that I would never do to any dog! - because it's too cold here in the winter for greyhounds, with their thin fur.

Our greyhound Lola loves her sweaters. She thinks she is human anyways. She sees us putting on sweaters and such and thinks she is entitled to one also
