I use to get into DC Talk, but that’s about it.

In the end it's the lyrics that count, right? the music style is more subjective.

Yes, indeed. Sometimes with hard rock the lyrics aren't very clear, though, because the music is so loud, right?

Yeah I suppose it’s how the music is composed, but personally it’s about the lyrics and message. If it’s worship music it definitely has to emphasise the worshiping amd praising of God

Yes, some really loud rock music is probably not suitable for congregational singing; more for individual appreciation, right?

I’ve seen some churches who play ‘Christian rock music’ - it’s not all bad. I think it’s about what their true intention is. I can’t really stand “concert like” worship.

I know what you mean. True worship is 'in spirit and in truth' (John 4). Still, do you reckon that hard rock in Christian lyrics makes you personally feel good? (if this is a term I can use).

Make me feel good? I don’t think it’s about how “I feel”, but moreso, how I would like to honour God by praising Him.... One can only “feel good” or “feel the Holy Spirit” is when God touches them in spirit.

I agree. Feel good is not the right term. Being God honoring is.

Hello. May I add to the conversation? Have you heard of a band called “Hyper Static Union”? They are also a Christian Rock Band. Their style is more “funky” rock. They have a good groove to them. They talk about the Lord in their songs. Some are about certain subjects. Some are pure worship.

I suggest:

Just Can’t Leave it Alone (About how the band just can’t keep the Gospel to themselves, like the world tells them to):

Right Where You Want Me (About God having us right in the place he wants us in life):

Now That It’s Over (How their relationship with the Devil and the world is over):

Slave (They’re not a slave to the Devil anymore):

Or for pure worship (softer Rock):

They've moved on to other things now, but a lot of classic P&W worship came out of David & Dale Garratt in NZ, back in the 70s and 80s.
