Hi,

I'd like to greet and share my problems. I was saved by Jesus Christ 12 years ago. Then I was in darbist denomination. Unfortunately 4 years ago I was tempted to leave darbists and go to roman catholic church.

It was stupid decision. I was very ill [HCV - 50% chance of cure] and my congregation was little [6 people]. I didn't want to have witnesses of my illness. Darbists [exclusive brethren] were also somewhat sectarian. I was also tempted by roman catholic mysticism, especially John of the Cross.

Now I'm healthy but also I have roman catholic wife [married 6 months ago]. Week ago I decided to go to baptists and definitely leave catholic church. My wife is frustrated. She said she wanted to marry catholic not protestant.

Pray for me and for my wife, please. I believe in Jesus Christ with all my heart but I was tempted by roman catholicism and I came back with catholic wife. I started to go to Baptists on Waliców 25 Street, Warsaw, Poland.

You cheated that poor woman!!! Look to the Catholic Church for truth. You say "Scripture Only" but you do not even know how the bible came into existence. Study how the bible came into existence and you will find truth.

Hi MMW,

I believe that these situations are exactly what Jesus was referring to when he warned his followers that he did not come to bring peace, but a sword and that a man's enemies would be members of his own household. It is hard, but I encourage you to stick with the fellowship that you feel is seeking and following the truth.

Who knows, you may bring her around to the truth also. Be patient with her and treat her with the respect she is due as your wife.

God bless you
IN Christ, Ted

Hi,

Hello friend.

God forgives us for our sin because of what Christ did but the consequences of sin are not immediately removed and will often last a life time. Is your wife a believer? Does she believe in the Gospel?

It was stupid decision. I was very ill [HCV - 50% chance of cure] and my congregation was little [6 people]. I didn't want to have witnesses of my illness. Darbists [exclusive brethren] were also somewhat sectarian. I was also tempted by roman catholic mysticism, especially John of the Cross.
Ahhh, the Exclusive Brethren. My dealings with the Brethren have left me with the impression they are legalists and pietists but each congregation is different. You jumped from the frying pan into the fire!

Now I'm healthy but also I have roman catholic wife [married 6 months ago]. Week ago I decided to go to baptists and definitely leave catholic church. My wife is frustrated. She said she wanted to marry catholic not protestant.
Does she insist you attend Mass? It might be helpful to explain from scripture why you find the Mass repugnant and sinful. If you like I'll post some scriptures to help you walk your wife through the subject.

Pray for me and for my wife, please. I believe in Jesus Christ with all my heart but I was tempted by roman catholicism and I came back with catholic wife. I started to go to Baptists on Waliców 25 Street, Warsaw, Poland.
My family will pray for you.

This is the Baptist forum where Baptists post. No Baptist would ever give the advice you have given.

Have you looked into the Polish Orthodox Church?
Another poster with an agenda. Rather than helping the man you would have him betray his conscience.

Now my wife is in much better mood. She is slowly accepting my decision. I treat her with all respect and not try to convict her by force. Probably some catholic priest adviced her not to fight with me, but it's only my guess.

You must prepare yourself for the fact that your wife may not be a believer.

Yours in the Lord,

Thank you for all kind words. Situation in my home is OK. We don't argue.

I'm not sure is my wife born again christian. She knows Bible, she believes in God but it's not enough. It's too early to ask her about her relation to Jesus. As catholic she is very zealous but it's not equivalent to new born.
