What would you is the greatest scientific breakthrough in the last hundred or so years? There have been so many, I don't know if I oculd pick one...!

The two most important changes in science the last 100 years are:

Quantum Mechanics
Identifying the double helix of DNA.

I think hands down these are by far the most important.

Antibiotics certainly has affected more people in a positive way, but I thing I too must vote for quantum mechanics. It fundementally changed the way scientists looked at the universe at a point where they thought they were just about out of new things to discover.
