  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

These are all pretty old actors, but I suppose you have to use them since you are asking for the greatest actor ever. Out of all mentioned, I would say Jack Nicholason is #1. His acting in "A Few Good Men" was outsanding.

certainly actors vary in their roles.brando was weird.especially in the end,his films were terrible due to the scripts he took.tom hanks and denzel washington continue to make great films.i also like richard gere.

Agreed about Brando. The only thing I ever liked him in was A Streetcar Named Desire but really liked Karl Malden in that film better. Malden is a great actor. And Brando's recent movies not too good, except maybe his small role in The Score. At least he didn't mumble in The Score. Hanks is the Jimmy Stewart of our time.

Out of that list, probably Jack Nicholson, though not necessarily. I just love A Few Good Men. Dustin Hoffman was great in Rain Man, just brilliant. Gene Hackman is very good but I don't think deserving of a top 10 spot. Jimmy Stewart is great of course.

But where is Tom Hanks? He's on any top 10 actors list - best actor ever in my books.

I voted Dustin Hoffman (Rain Man was beautiful, and well...who doesn't love Tootsie?!?), but it really was a toss up between him and Jimmy Stewart...I loved him in It's A Wonderful Life and Flight Of The Phoenix (the original).

I would like to add that IMHO, Laurence Olivier should have been on this list...Hamlet and Rebecca are two films that will go down in history...

How about Kirk Cameron? He is a Christian and turned to Christ now.

Definitely not the greatest actor ever, but I saw that too, he has his own TV show even about witnessing to family and friends!

I totally voted Morgan Freeman, whose other movies include: High Crimes, Outbreak, and Bruce Almighty, to name some of my favorites.

I've never liked Jack Nicholson, I want to, but he totally gives me the creeps.
