Project Gutenberg also has Gibbon's 6 volume "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" if you have a spare lifetime to read it!

http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/authors/g#a375

The first volume was right around 800 pages.

I did talk to a gentleman who read the whole thing--he was a prisoner of war at the time, and that was the only book they had in the area they were holding him.

Gibbons version of history is a bit slanted and though he was a brilliant writer his history is now looked at a bit skeptically. I know DJ will ask for a source but I don't have it as it was a few years ago I did the research. But it is natural as few areas of scholarship of the 1700's matches the scholarship today.

WOW. Are you being sarcastic? Anyway, thanks for the link icedragon. I like Roman History.

No?

I know that itsn't that many, but that is with sleep and stuff. Other people are faster readers.

I have sat down and read 5 books in a day before. I have read 1000s of books in my life.
