  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Probably true. Then again without modern technology (and weapons), I seriously doubt that humans would have survived for very long. :) Without gunpowder, we'd be toast. :)

I'd be more worried about the extinction event that killed the dinosaurs than I would be of being their prey.

What lions, leopards and hyenas lacked in size, they gained in numbers, and we survived just fine...

IMO is an issue of scaling. With a good spear, crossbow and knife, I could probably take down something like a lion by myself if I had to. T-rex would likely have eaten me for breakfast. :)

I did agree with the comment however that prey didn't necessarily go extinct, and necessity is the mother of invention. ;)

If T. Rex was one of the animals created in Genesis 1, you would more likely have him as a pet than an adversary.

After the Flood is when I would start to worry.

Don't you mean after the fall? T-rex fossils have teeth.

I know, but I don't think they started eating people right away.

In fact, it wasn't until around the time of the Flood that they started eying mankind, and God placed a special fear of man on them afterward.

Genesis 9:2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

You should tell that to the animals, they don't seem to fear us.

Ya ... I hear we're living in the days after the Fall and the Flood.
what fall? there was no fall in the bible or in reality.
that was made up by augustine and thomas aquinas to explain why humans were sinful according to catholic doctrine.
neither moses or jesus believed in a fall of man that magically did stuff to gods creation.

what gravity? there was no gravity mentioned in scientific writings or in reality.
that was made up by isaac newton to explain why apples fell from trees according to observation.
neither aristotle or euclid believed in a gravitational field that magically did stuff to georges lemaîtres creation.

So Moses and Jesus didn't believe in the fall then? ReverandDG seems confident in his claim. Maybe you should show him why you think he is wrong rather than attempting satire, which, being a literalist, isn't your strong point.

Yes, Moses & Jesus believed in the Fall.

I'm sure They discussed it at the transfiguration.

I am too.

Are you kidding me?

If he doesn't know why I think he's wrong by now, he's still a newbie.

And so are you, if you don't know.

Yes, Moses & Jesus believed in the Fall.

Should be easy to prove then.

I'm sure They discussed it at the transfiguration.
Something a little better than your suppositions maybe?

I am too.
Then you should be able to prove it easily.

Are you kidding me?
If he doesn't know why I think he's wrong by now, he's still a newbie.
I'm sensing evasion here. I'm not sure why such a basic point would aggravate you. I would have thought you'd welcome the chance to show what you heroes believed.

And so are you, if you don't know.
And so are you if you don't know why answering the point properly would save you a lot of time and irritation

There is a lot of mention of the time frame "6015 years"

I see that for some it is significant
However , it would seem that we, [our ancestors]
were plainly hobnobbing this planet much earlier

Extinct Hobbit Species Resembled Man, Not Apes - Science News - redOrbit

Either, the calendar has been misinterpreted, or, someone has created a new one

Dya think ?
