I think it's a name for an observed phenomena that follows the same principles over and over again. You seem unaware of the existence of Dark Matter.Many galaxies should fly apart simply due to the speed at which they spin: conventional estimates of their mass indicate that there simply should not be enough of a gravitational pull to hold them together.
