• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Nice quiz but, ugh, my memory of Sisters songs must be getting bad for missing 3.

Of course, I did know the answer to the last question but "who cares" was such a good answer I had to take it :p I'll have to look around for an EBM quiz or make one myself if there isn't any, hehe.

On topic though, there is nothing that prevents someone from being Goth and Christian. I'm lazy today though so I'll just link to a recent discussion on the topic here on CF for you that I already responded in.http://www.christianforums.com/t2117872-christian-response-to-gothicism.html

edit: I couldn't resist and went and made an EBM quiz lol. Here it is, have fun!

Well, I'm a bit "gothic" myself...Im actually more of an extremist when it comes to life style..Yea...you can kinda tell Im a little weird from my picture XD The most gothic thing about me is I create very depressing art work. I am not however a very depressed person. I am only dark because without darkness there is no light.

Anyway, it's has nothing to do with my beliefs. But thats just me. To each his own. You can be who you want to be and believe what you see fit. ;D

Goths are conformists like preppies, jocks, nerds, ect. Religion is separate from their lifestyle and nothing they do is sinful or wrong.. even the bible has no problem. And Jclovesu you wanted to be a goth, but you see it as sinful. Is it temptation like homosexuality with you christians and if you view something as wrong you want to try it?

I don't know if you remember what it's like to be 16 years old and not sure about what's right and what wrong and all the people that tell you you're wrong no matter what. Growing up is finding out that it's more important what you believe than what others think about you. That's all part of the process and usually involves a lot of hit and miss
Jclovesu isn't exactly sure about this so is asking others in an arena where he feels comfortable doing so. I think that's great. Much better than never questioning authority or bothering to muddle through all the hard stuff.

As far as your last comment goes... Christianity is about freedom, not fear. There are quite a few gay Christians in this forum that know that they are God's beloved children. They only fear the narrowmindedness and intolerance of others that don't understand that yet.

Just a note from staff, that though we are blessed to be able to discuss topics like Homosexuality in LT, the rules state that "discussion must be backed by evidence complete with citations. Standard citations are acceptable but links are preferred." If you would like to discuss homosexuality, please bear in mind this rule DOES apply, and any posts not cited will be deleted and may carry further staff actions.

Also, please try and keep to the OP - i understand sometimes conversation does stem and become relevant though it may not be directly related :D, we are happy to give grace to that untill it hijacks the discussion. Just some things to bear in mind and be aware of - thanks for your time guys.
