CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm scared to jump in to my own thread here, for fear of having misunderstood what everyone has said. However, all I got out of what Max said was that we are relying more on science and less on God. As we begin to understand more what's going on, the atheists and such sieze the opportunity to say "See!!!!!! There doesn't have to be a God afterall!" We've seen it plenty on this board, even in the last week.
Did somebody put it in those terms already? Did I misunderstand Mr. Lucado's message?

Yes the atheists have staked a claim to it, but sadly creation scientists and many Christians make the *same claim*. Is Mr. Lucado in agreement with the atheists about this? His last two points indicate that he is.
Christians then proceed to claim that science is generally a *bad thing* because it is removing the hand of God from creation. Of course, this is not true.
Thats why we have so much discussions on this subject on this board. If we deflate the myth, Christians can get on with their faith and not feel the need to deflate science that they see as countering God.
