CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I had a phpbb up, but it is messed up. Someone told me that it messed up because MySPL is down from my host, and I can't get a hold of them. It has been down since last night. Someone also told me that phpbb is easily hacked. They suggested invision. I am VERY new to this and have been getting outside help to setup my board. It is getting very frustarting, since I don't know how to check and see what the problem is or how to set up a board myself.
I am wanting to find a good solid board that comes with chat, and a calendar, or chat and stuff can be added. I don't have the funds to use vbulletin.

i use phpBB and have never had a problem. the only problems ive had is at the server end, when the hosts server crashed..

IPB cost money (assumed it was free untill I just looked it up), and you need perl for YaBB. I will set up a phphbb board on my server for you tommorow when I get home from church kerux.

aimoo.com is where i am using one at the mo, its all done on line and you can add your own html to it, I just have my url redirected to it.

I use Proboards, works great for me..gets a little slow every once in a while, but it's not a problem. And it's extremely easy, especially if you haven't made a message board before.

I use phpBB which is provided by my host provider iPowerweb.
I did not have to worry about installing it, automatically done.
And administrator tasks are relatively self explanatory.

I prefer phpbb, but if you want the chat and such you have got to know a little php to intall the mods for it, you can find those at http://www.phpbbhacks.com/ an ok free place that you can use invision is http://www.invisionfree.com
