Hey there, as a young teen, I'm starting to come up against evolution at school (*grumble*. Our teacher claimed that some old crazy people used to believe in creation, now no one does. He didn't believe me when I said I was a creationist, and continues to insult it) and it can be sometimes hard to resist the temptation to give into the theory, afterall, creationisim, scientfically, seems crazy, though as I read more on how science fits in with creation, my faith is strengthened (yay!) so, naturally, I'm looking to continue this trend. Any good videos/books/dvd's/tapes you know of?

The above site has some videos that I found helpful, especially "Unlocking the Mystery of Life".
A good book is: I Don't Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist
by Norman L. Geisler, Frank Turek, David Limbaugh

I would suggest that you take a look at Intelligent Design, this is an excellent documentary:

"The story begins with a landmark meeting of design theorists assembled by UC Berkeley Law Professor Phillip Johnson in Pajaro Dunes California in 1993. The documentary then follows the development of the intelligent design movement through insightful interviews with key design scientists Paul Nelson, Stephen Meyer, Dean Kenyon, Michael Behe, William Dembski, Jonathan Wells, Jed Macosko and Scott Minnich."

Unlocking the mystery of life

Traditionally scientists have believed that life was the result of some kind of intellignet design. Materialistic reasoning is a fairly modern concept and an and there are alternatives. ID and creationism are both based on the premise that life came about as the result of an idea as opposed to random processes.

This one is a peer reviewed scientific paper:

Stephen C. Meyer Article: The Origin of Biological Information and the Higher Taxonomic Categories

The Discovery Insitute has a number of resources that you might find helpfull. Now to say that no one believes in creationism is simply not true, here is a list of creationists who are scientists and some really good articles on the subject.

Creation scientists and other biographies of interest

You know, I was about your age when I encountered the very same problem in school. As I accepted the Lord when I was about eight years old, I never believed in any other philosophy BUT creationism. So, when it was first brought to my attention that "man came from monkeys", naturally my reaction was "WHAT?"

Windmill, you are on the right track. Just stand by what you believe, and you'll do just fine!

Wow this topic is STILL here :p amazing! I haven't been to the site in awhile. Thanks for all of the advise and support ^-^ I've had some further luck since then. An adventist missionary organisation heard my cry out for good pro creation anti-evolution material on another forum and sent me a great book. I'm not sure what denomination wrote it, its defiantly not SDA (Talks about a hell) but whatever whoever wrote it its BRILLIANT. 900 pages of solid EASY TO READ (5th graders can read it) material thats easy to find stuff thanks to the great index and stuff. Its so cheap as well, it sells for a maximum of $5 :D Its called evolution crusher, to anyone interested, I also believe it is available online to read for free. I've been taking it to school with me, its defiantly sparked some discussions :p

I'd start with the articles here.

For some basics in evidence, facts, and bias, see Searching for the Magic Bullet, Creation: Where's the Evidence, and Refuting Evolution chapter 1. Also see a good article on living the Christian worldview.

For intro books I'd deffinitely start with The Answers Book (follow the links to read for free). After that, you can get a little more advanced with Sarfati's Refuting Evolution, volume 1 and volume 2.

Im going through the same exact thing. My Biology teacher feels as if those who believe in creationism, are red-necks and ignorant. Though he doesn't say this directly, it is clear that he does say it indirectly. I have a 95% in his class, which is known to be pretty tough. I guess evolution is the intelligent way of rejecting the authority of the bible, rather than worshiping monkey's or rats and believe that everything is a god.
