Its funny because I think the more science discovers, as it gets closer to the theory of everything that science has been trying to work out. The more God will be revealed in a greater way that is hard to deny.

Basically science is using Gods creation naturalistically to build a material world as the basis for producing Gods creation. In other words its really a metaphysical belief and not science. So inevitably its going to look like Gods creation as Dawkins says, ;has the appearence of design' but the creator is naturalism itself.

Areas of science in cosmoloy, quantum physics, biology, genetics, are moving towards ideas related to design and teleology. About the observer and subject and what role they play in the equation. When you do this it looks like reality is more like a great big mind than a machine.

I think we are already in a paradigm shift in thinking towards a mind behind reality. It may not be acknowledged as such but the ideas and language very much reflects this shift. It may take many more years but just like other shifts like classical physics to QP it will change how we see things.

Sometimes it takes a buildup of conflicting data to acknowledge the shift or to be open to ideas outside the standard. But of course for those who blieve in only a material and naturalistic reality there will always be a rational explanation. That will never change as this is about belief and not evidence. But many have see God in science, in the cosmos and as mentioned at the cellular level and been converted.

The problem I think with Dawkins idea that evolution has the appearence of design due to natural section is that appearence is never the real thing and it will always be found out.
