Things appear to be pretty slow right now in Golden Eagles, and I was wondering where everyone is. I know that it's summer vacation time and the kids are out of school in most places.

A fellow singer-songwriter-guitarist and I have just recorded 14 Christian songs we've written. A very talented lead and bass guitarist is going to add some tracks in September, when he finishes another job. Meanwhile, it's getting hot here in Reno.

I hope everyone is enjoying the season too, whether summer or winter, and managing to keep cool or warm respectively.

We're having a heatwave in the UK and it has not rained for about four weeks. So I've been taking advantage of this unusual summer to get curtains washed, ironed and rehung in a day, decorating done and the garden sorted. Also it's been difficult to sleep, so I've been trying to get to bed earlier than usual and consequently have not been online much. I miss the fellowship but hope to be here more frequently before too long. Meanwhile I hope all is well with everyone.

I was feeling lonely when I started this thread. My daughter and her family (4 of my grandsons) were gone on vacation to Florida. In other words, my wife and I were alone in Central Oklahoma. They just got back yesterday and we're happy to have them home.

I'm sorry that you were feeling lonely, Tom. I suppose it coincided with vacations for many people so it was quiet on here too. I hope you're feeling better now and am glad that your family are back safely.

I'm pleased that you started this thread, as I was wondering where people were, and also wanted an opportunity of saying that I won't be here quite as frequently whilst taking advantage of the long (and as it turns out, hot) days, not however with kids or dogs, but with cleaning and decorating!

Its Winter here in Australia. I have found it to have been particularly cold this year but we haven't had much rain really. Last week we had six nights in a row at 0 or less with heavy frosts. Usually after a frost you get some sun later on but the days were grey and miserable.
Tonight is going to be 4 (Celsius) so that's ok .

I guess it also matters a lot where in Australia one is; my guess is that Torres Straits winters are like tropical summer compared with winter in Tasmania.

I still wonder about your back and if you need any pointers or ideas on that.

after a year and a half since the new hip, I tried to do a chasse a few times and was shocked that I could. Its just a simple step-together-step, like as if you were pretending to gallop like a horse in grade school.
