  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've been wondering are there any explanation for the teeth filling in churches that doesnt requiere God? Can it be explain without saying that God did it.? Any dentist here who can explain how people get their teeth filled with gold in churches without calling it a miracle
I'm not sure what you're asking. Some people have teeth fillings, yes.

I'm assuming that's a reference to the claims made (by various people, including Gerald Coates in the UK among others) that God has taken to replacing amalgam fillings with gold fillings. It is difficult to conceive of a more pointless 'miracle', though I think it reveals more about those making the claims than it does about God. They apparently believe that while God could just replace the damaged teeth, he now concedes that man-made fillings are superior to his original design....as long as they are constructed from gold!

I suspect this absurdity has been foisted on the church by the same folks who brought us 'angel oil' and 'gemstones from heaven'. A rather tacky theme developing, I fancy.

I believe it does happen sometimes, but I am not sure about all of the claims. I have a friend who at the time that this happened at his church, he was a Methodist pastor (I think this was like 12 years ago). Not the usual kind of church to make flaky claims, yet people at his church testified to this happening during worship services.

I am uncertain but I remeber watching something of a documentary about this.I was anew believer and thought it strange. And still do. I love miracles and know they happen.I am with Leon with the fact that why not replace the tooth? Why gold? So it kinda makes me hesitant about this.

I think a lot of the so called "miracles" seen in church, aren't miracles at all!
Some are based on lies and deception.
And lies and deception, that try to glorify our God; don't glorify our God at all!

God is a God of truth! And thus, all truth glorifies Him. Even if it is more boring than a spectacular lie.

People need to remember there is two sides to the supernatural, satan will gladly toss people a bone (or gold filling) to add validity a lunatic and heretic church/gospel.
I agree that people need to remember that there are two sides to the supernatural - I have run into so many people who recognize the evil side and deny the good.

But did they explain scientifically how people got their teeth filled with gold? Maybe they drank some wine that colored their teeth... did the documentary that you watched explained how it happened?

I've seen a documentary about this, and I know a pastor who's had this happen in his church. It is not scientifically explainable, and it's not coloring - it's actual gold where before there was some other kind of filling in the tooth. It's a miracle. If it were scientifically explainable, it wouldn't be a miracle.

The miracle of the new birth is far superior to amalgam replacement. A dentist can do the later, only God can do the former.
Of course. The miracle of the new birth is far superior to any other miracle. That doesn't mean no other miracle exists.
