  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

God's word ALL, is it that God's word is incorrect, or is it that one's belief is incorrect? God's word ALL is used throughout the new testament. How does a person see that ALL people or every one is included in the verse of Romans 3:23 which states "For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God", but do not see that ALL people or every one is included in the verse of 1 Timothy 4:10 which states " For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of ALL men, specially of those that believe", which we are to command and teach- 1 Timothy 4:11? Is it that one is: blind, ignorant, a sinner(seperate from Jesus Christ, transgressor of the law, the servant of sin, God does not hear, ungodly, has never seen or known Christ, of the devil[are you a sinner]), reprobate, subverted, unbelieving, carnal, or just denies the word of God? There are many verses where ALL, every one, one, us, we, you, mankind is in the new testament. The following are just a few examples: The Lord hath(has) called every one- 1 Corinthians 7:17; For ye are ALL one in Christ-Galatians 3:28; "One God and Father of ALL, who is above ALL, and through ALL, and in you ALL"- Ephesians 4:6; And they were judged every man according to their works- Revelation 20:13; Judgment came upon ALL men to condemnation...the free gift came upon ALL men unto justification of life-Romans 5:18; Were ALL dead, and that he died for ALL- 2 Corinthians 5:14-15; ALL things work together for good- Romans 8:28; We are santified(made Holy) through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for ALL-Hebrews 10:10; The gospel(good news), which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature-Colossians 1:23; Having forgiven you ALL trespasses-Colosssians 2:13; Salvation hath(has) appeared to ALL men-Titus 2:11; ALL things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over ALL things-Ephesians 1:22; "And he is before ALL things, and by him ALL things consist"-Colossians 1:17. For ALL have sinned, and he died for ALL. Jesus Christ the living God, who is the Saviour of ALL men, specially of those that believe. Have a blessed day, knowing that Jesus Christ saved you to.

Not that I'm disagreeing, but if we're putting great emphasis on a single word, it would be important to go back to the source and see what the word used was in the original language, if indeed it was the same word in each case, and at least know how it ought to have been translated.

I very rarely concern myself with a word though. I'm more likely to look at a passage in context, or compare passages, in order to answer questions if need be.

My point is just that if you lean heavily on a single word - you want to be sure that word is rendered correctly ...

Oh, and sorry, just saw that you are brand-new, Commander. :)

Welcome to CF, and welcome to TT! Forgive us if the questions about how your post relates to this forum don't make sense ... we have lots of areas in CF and some of them work a little differently or have a different purpose than others. If you need any help finding your way around, let us know!

This particular area is for discussion of Traditional Theology, and is expected to be carried out in a more congenial manner than, say, General Theology often does.

Again, Welcome!!! :)
