God's unconditional love is a general love for all. And without which He wouldn't have given His Beloved Son for our sakes so that we may be saved from wrath through Him.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. <-----> John 3:16
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. <-----> 1st Timothy 2:4
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. <-----> 2nd Peter 3:9
But His conditional love is a personal love for certain individuals. Which is given only to those of us who love, trust and obey Jesus. And it is this love which causes the provision of Salvation through Christ, to be effectually and individually applied.
He that hath my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. <-----> John 14:21
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. <-----> John 14:23
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. <-----> John 15:9+10
For the Father himself loves you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. <-----> John 16:27
Wherefore God's unconditional love alone won't save us...but without it His conditional love would not even be available to us. So we depend on both for our Salvation in Christ. To The Glory of God, In The Highest !
