God created Lucifer as an angel, not a demon. Satan wasn't initially the wretched, lying monster he is now. The Bible says that Satan, or Lucifer, was lifted up with pride, rebelled against God, was cast out of Heaven and became the evil creature we now know him to be. Satan, chose what he is now; God did not make him that way.

Peace to you.

(By the way, I think this question should've been posed in the "Questions by Non-Christians" board. )

Your original hypothesis is based upon the fact that God created Satan and as Satan turned out evil then the creator also must be evil.

Let me ask you in return, when a child is born is it good or evil? Or is it in a neutral state where its choices will determine how its character is formed?

In my opinion, it is the latter, because God made mankind with free will so that we can choose to love Him. Sadly this free will also allows us to choose to love ourselves, power, possessions or any number of other things, instead.

God also created the angels (before He created humanity) and He gave them the same gift of free will and Lucifer (the Angel of Light) chose to elevate himself rather than be the loving and beloved servant of God. That choice resulted in Satan.

So yes it was a choice of God that resulted in evil - He chose to allow us and the angel to have freedom to choose Him or some other thing. But as you may know already, or if not will find as you grow older, the only way to receive love is to allow the object of your love to have the freedom to not love you.

I hope this helps a little.

Pete

Because satan is evil doesn't mean God has evil in Him. First what is evil? Evil=Absence of good. God only created good in satan, along with a free will to choose that good. But, as we have learned, satan chose not the good but whatever wasn't good, which we have labeled as evil.

No, the devil and all demons where Angels at first, which God created. But he gave them free will, just like he gave man free will, and just like man some of them rebeled. The devil was not origionally , himself. he was a wonderful angel named lucifer. But he wanted the throne of God, and h and a bunch of other Angels rebelled against God but where defeated, hell was created for them to suffer in along with any human or angel who does the same thing. God did not create satan as he is now, he created him lucifer, a wonderful angel. Lucifer did the rest with his power.

God created the devil-
The devil is a creation made by the creater and the creator is god.
To create something like the devil, one's imagination must have a trace of evil in it?

God created the angels.... and they have a free will.
Just like man has a free will.

Satan rebelled against God....
and managed to convince 1/3 of the angels in heaven to join his corrupt thinking.

God cast all of them out of Heaven.

As man also has free will, we also chose to disobey God.
Adam and Eve did it in the Garden.
You and I....do it every day.

Thank goodness God has provided a way for us to be with Him in Heaven....
even though we have sinned against Him and deserve Hell.

God's Plan: Jesus Christ.
His Son.

Answering this question made me think about how influential Satan is.
He convinced 1/3 of the angel population to follow his corrupt ways. AND THESE ANGELS WERE ALREADY IN HEAVEN WITH GOD !
Not only did they know the Truth....but they were living in Heaven with God.
That's huge.

God is so big.
We cannot possibly wrap our minds around His mind.

We can know a lot,
but we cannot know or understand everything that he does.

We do know that He created us.
We know that He gave us free will.
We know that He knows everything.
We know that He loves us.
We know that He had a plan to send Jesus all along.

Hopefully, that will be something that you will get to ask Him someday. ;)

It may have something to do with Free Will.

Humans were created wtih Free Will, so that if they chose to Love God, it would be a real love...not a robot love.
Real Love is a choice.

Obviously, angels have free will too..... because Satan obviously had a choice...and he chose to not Love God.

thats just restating what im arguing against if god knew that satan was gonna betray him why make him...

Well... friend, you can argue this all night, but there are facts that will remain the facts.

1. God created Satan.
2. Satan chose evil.
3. Humans are destined for eternal Hell unless they have their sin forgiven.
4. The Only Way to have your sin forgiven is through the work of Jesus on the cross.

You have heard the Truth.
What will you do with the Truth?

Someday we will all face the Lord Jesus Christ.
At that point, for the Unbeliever.... it will be too late.
You will not be able to tell Him that you never heard the Truth about Him.

You have heard the Truth.
The Truth will set you free.

Hey... I'm going to pray for you, after I send this post.

thats just restating what im arguing against if god knew that satan was gonna betray him why make him...
well, God is Love incarnate, and as such he desired to be loved. Ergo, he created all of Creation, and also Mankind. He gave man---his creation, whom he made in his own image, free will, the right to obey him, or themselves, because God is love and being love, he cannot force Man to love him---because that would not be love, ergo something that God cannot be and will not do. Thus was the imbuing of freewill that was given unto man, was also given unto the angels. As the most powerful and beautiful angel, Lucifer tried to make himself higher than God, and for doing so he was cast out from heaven. God still continues to give all of mankind as well as Lucifer the choice to reject their own will and follow Love incarnate's---that is Christ Jesus, God in the flesh----But God, being as he is outside of linear time, can see and know all the past, present, and future, and thus knows that Satan will remain defiant to the end, and thus as it says in the Apocalypse of St. John aka. The Book of Revelation, he will be cast in the Lake of Fire and suffer eternal death. So God, being as Loving and as merciful as a God who is Love, mercifully decides to let us live our lives with the choice to follow either our will which leads to Hell( because hell is not only separation from God because of his Absence, but the result of God letting man have his way by permitting his rejection of himself, thus Man consigns himself to hell, when turns his back on God by following the will of man, instead of God's will, but the absolute absence of love, thus the suffering of tormenting in hell by souls knowing that they freely reject God's love to follow their own selfish desires, rather than the way of humility, love, and compassion that is God's way. )

I have asked myself that question many times.
Satan was created as an angel, except he chose evil. Even though He knew it would happen, He gave Satan the choice.

Satan is the tempter, he doesn't want us to know God. He is a challenge, and one, if we are willing to overcome his hateful ways, can bring us even more happiness and allow us to live better lives and to be able to be happy in the fact we have been able to resist what he says to us.

God knows all right then he knew what satan was gonna do. So why make him. He could have not made him

God does not need anything or anyone, whether angels, humans, or creatures..... However, for reasons God has not seen fit to reveal, He has CHOSEN to administer His creation in and through angels, humans, and creatures.
