Christians say that this is a reasonable statement which explains existence:

The universe exists because it was created by a God who exists for no reason and with no cause.

But that this is not a reasonable statement and it explains nothing:

The universe exists for no reason and with no cause.

How did you reach that conclusion?

The Big Bang is the cause of the known universe. For those who accept science, anyway.

Not really. The Big Bang merely describes the universe expanding rapidly from that central point. Essentially, the universe already existed when the Big Bang happened, and the Big Bang spread it all out.

The cause is God, God knows the reason, we are not able to understand the mind of God, so the reason will remain unknown to us.

That's it. Literally, God only knows.

The cause is God,

The cause of what? You can only be referring to one of two things and neither makes sense.

Are you saying that God is the cause of God? If so, please explain.

Are you saying that God is the cause of the universe? That is unproductive and redundant. I already know that Christians claim that God is the cause of the universe. The whole point of the thread, which you've obviously missed, is that the insertion of God into the issue as a solution is superfluous. If you have any new input about God's origins, or if you disagree with my assessment that your position is that God exists for no reason and with no cause, then you should have simply stated that instead.

God knows the reason, we are not able to understand the mind of God, so the reason will remain unknown to us.

You have said "But that this is not a reasonable statement" where is your evidence that it is unreasonable to believe that God created the universe, you have made the claim the burden of evidence is yours.

What you have stated here is false. You're confused on the facts. The OP was four sentences long, please try to keep up.

Could it be that the plan is to attack and challenge those who believe in God in an effort to place them on the defensive BUT when you are challenged to provide evidence for your stated position, that it is not reasonable to believe in God, you are unprepared to provide evidence for your own position?

If you're going to get all snarky, maybe folks should move onto the next thread.

No. It couldn't. I've stopped caring about what you have to say at this point. You have one more chance to get back on track and respond to what was actually stated, or we can be done. Up to this point it's been a complete waste of time.

I never heard a Christian claim that God has no purpose or reason for creation. New to me. So I agree, it is not a reasonable statement.
