God So Loves The World, But There Are Those Whom He Hates

Does The God of Love Also Hate?

  • Yes, He will destroy the wicked and cruel oppressors and shedders of innocent blood

  • No, His Love is Unconditional

  • I never thought about it, because I was always taught "God Is Love".

  • God can hate and Love the same person at the same time.

  • "God loves everyone, but he does not love everyone equally."

Hmmm. So, I take it that you feel the intention of your OP is being misunderstood?
Yours is post #40 and I am still trying to get
readers to accept that King David's Psalms,
which are posted in #1 are Truth. You tell me.

I think people answered the question as they understood it. If you already had the answer when you posed it, then it probably wasn't taken as intended. It's a deeper question in thought than just God shows no mercy to the merciless implies. For example, my guess is that overall, you intend to show that there is a severity to God that you want to get across to people, but that's my guess. Otherwise, you could just say God shows no mercy to the merciless.

Actually, the lesson I have received is that God's actions
have more to do with Justice than hatred. I think I have
said that at least once. There is 5 other threads currently
on this topic that the Lord has been speaking to me about
since Saturday and I have been sharing on the Forum.

The Lord Loves The Righteous
The Wicked Have No Memorial In Heaven
There Will Be No Memory Of The Wicked
Justice For The Poor-Reforming the Traditional View of Salvation
The Poor You Have With You Always

The message of this thread, found in post #1, is not
simply that God hates the wicked, who are vividly
described in the 4 Psalms, but we are also told
precisely why. It is because of the Father's profound
compassion for their victims. Again, Justice demands
this. It is not about hate overriding love. It is about
the righteous judgment of the Father, that He has
entrusted with His Son.
Surprisingly, there seems to be a deep level of
ignorance on this subject, as there are those
who think they can nullify this Truth with Grace.
This is very strange to me. What person does not
cry out for justice in the face of human cruelty?

The question is answered in the scriptures provided
in post #1! That's the point. People read the title of
the thread and try to answer without properly considering
the content of the OP that establishes the topic in post#1.
Passages from four Psalms for context, with focus
upon the key verses established by placing them in bold.
I challenge any reasonable person to go back and read
the content of those four Psalms and tell me they don't
answer the question posed. I would also point out that
several people did just that. So all the others could
possibly offer at this point are excuses. I appreciate
you taking the time to actually dig in and want to under-
stand. Please also understand that I will now close the thread to further posts. Enough has been said.
God Bless, and thanks again.

I'm going to think about this and see if I have more to say tomorrow. But for now, I will say that I don't believe that most people are ignorant or dismissive about the gross injustice happening all over the world. I think they feel helpless/powerless to stop it without contributing to it. It makes me think about how only God can put a hook in the mouth of Leviathan and that the wise virgins brought extra oil for their lamps.

What are you or what do you think God is making it conditional on?
also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,

God is love. He created man with the freedom to choose this goodness, to choose love, to choose Him. But with the same freedom man may also choose evil; he may reject God which is the ultimate evil.

So evil can exist only because of that freedom, the freedom to reject good. Love necessarily opposes and hates evil but God created nothing to be evil to begin with. Therefore He desires that none should choose it. He cannot desire that any should choose it. That would be for Him to choose it, making Him evil.
