Matthew 10:29
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care.
if the Lord is in control of the death of a sparrow, how much more is he in control of what happens to his children?
Romans 8:31–32
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?”
the Father sacrificed his beloved son on a tree for us, this is just a shadow of the depth and width and extent of his love for you and me and all of his children.
Your divorce, or health problems, or loss of a loved one, or loss of a job or mental illness or persecution...none of your pain is wasted. God is in control and loves you, and he would not allow these things to happen, unless they had to happen in order to conform you to the image of his son.
No matter the pain, Christ’s death gives us access to even greater joy, right in the teeth of all the suffering. All we have to do is ask for the joy, diligently and consistently, and seek Christ and not ourselves. The rest is promised, and even when we can’t we have an advocate in Christ Jesus!!!!
