GOD i WANT TO GET CLOSER!!

Guy's I have been consumed by all this sin in my life. God, tell now hasn't really convicted me prolly cos I was to hard headed to notice. But I've been doing alot wrong and all I feel most the time is anxious and guilty. I understand that when someone sin's, they are going to feel shame. But it's a ongoing thing with me. U get the courage to walk then I start to notice this floating anxiety. That wants to grab me into delusional thinking. I smoked weed today. I felt fine for a few minutes then I felt convicted. God gave me verse. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him, so why worry! And I felt closer to God. like the pure love we desire. I love you Father with all of my heart.

Why... did you smoke the weed?
Was it to try and dampen down the pain of the anxiety? What was the motivation. Try and figure that out then ask God to help you with that.
You have to accept that you will mess up in your walk with the Lord.
He doesn't expect that you will walk perfectly. If you were capable of that ... well then what's the point of the Cross? He just wants you to keep trying to walk. The desire of your heart is the most important thing.
"If we say we have no sin..we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sin, HE is faithful, HE is just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Don't drag your failures around behind you like some heavy ball and chain. Let them stay behind you on the path and put one foot in front of the other. Remember... God is pleased when we are walking toward Him, even if we stumble along the way... we stumble within His hand.. not out of it."

Are you on an anti-anxiety med? It may be a good time to see your doctor and get on one. It sounds like your OCD has kicked in big-time and you are looking for a way to not be so anxious.

Well Ive been depressed and Ive been single for 5 yr's. I just wanted this emptiness inside me filled. So I was like God I'm turning my back then I started to notice my SZ kicking in and then God gave me that verse. I'm sorry ya'll for being a disappointment. I am on valium but I don't have any since I rescheduled my appointment to friday. Ya I was just trying to find a escape goat. And now I know That God is the way. Just there has been alot of stress due to lust and other thing's and I'm so sorry for letting God down. I atleast know He loves me. Thanks Gracealone for the PM and you too seajoy!

You are NOT a disappointment Dabro. You are a trooper and a real encouragement to so many on this forum. I understand just wanting a release from the distress. God has a great plan for your life. Just keep on following him and deal with the OCD in the way you already know you should. You're a very astute guy and so it's just matter of knowing what you should do and then doing it.

everyone has struggles. some are easier to overcome than others, however, with the Holy Spirit, we are able to resist those those lusts. Continue to ask the Lord to guide you and strengthen you and He will.

Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

I got some Valium so I'm feeling a whole lot better. I guess it's just anxiety mixed with this decaying body.

Dabro, I just wanted to say that your posts are inspiring. You are a true warrior of Christ. I think we are defined more by how much we reach out to god when things are at their worst in our lives than when things are going great for us.

I'm glad you're feeling better. You are right - it is an inappropriate anxiety response due to your having an affliction which is due to living within a body that is subject to illness. Thankfully... His grace is sufficient for any and all of our afflicitions. Press on!
