God has recently called me to help others worship Him, via music, how do I do this?

I am in my church's Sunday morning band and the youth band (I'm 16), but I want to form an independent Christian band, take Hillsong, Satellite, 1am for examples. How would I go about doing this?
Should I wait until I'm older/left school, if so, what should I focus on during the time I'm at school?
And how did other worship bands form?
If it helps, I play bass guitar, acoustic guitar, piano/keyboard and I can sing a little.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section or anything, I'm new :)

Congrats on finding your calling!

First off, find some people that have been worship leaders for a long time, and study what they do. How they connect with the congregations, how they worship, the music, the scriptures they use, etc. All of that is important. Also, study your music. I know you're good (probably), but never stop studying your music. If you stop growing, you start to stagnate, which is pretty gross. Also, study your Bible. That way, the scriptures can stay fresh in your heart, and your heart is where all your worship and praise originates.

Secondly, study some more.

Starting a band when you're in school isn't a bad idea. But don't try to rush into anything. You might end up with band members that aren't on the same page as you. Try to be patient, you have plenty of time in your calling. That being said, it's good to start hanging around the band at your school. (That's where the musicians are!) If you recognize some from your church, that's a good place to start. Maybe you have some friends or friends of friends in the band? Just be sure that they have a willing heart, more than experience or skills. If they're willing to serve God, then He can use them, the same as He uses you. Keep in mind, that God specializes in using the people that don't believe they're "ready" to serve Him. (E. g., Moses, Jeremiah, Saul/Paul, etc.)

And lastly, study harder. Practice longer. Study some more. And trust God to use you.

Let us know how you're doing, and God bless.
