I dunno. The bit you saw fit to quote stunk, so that doesn't encourage me. Having peeked, it's mostly about biology, and I'm a physicist. So I'll defer to the biologists. But for the stuff I'm an expert in... the article stunk.

The reason I started this thread was to try and get into/onto the subject of sex. Sort of liven things up a bit. When I began studying Evolution, one of my first teachers said, "It's all about sex!" Whether this was a teacher's trick or not it certainly sounds like a good enough reason to focus on it and see how it stands up to closer scrutiny.
I had a look at John Hawks' site blog and it was a big topic a decade ago, so I guess it's a bad topic choice.
