So there's a whole heap of bandying about of the idea that TEs deny that God created, so let's have a thread to settle this once and for all.

Do you as a Christian poster on this board believe that God is the ultimate cause for all creation?

John 1:3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Col 1:16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created through him and for him.
Heb 1:2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
In fact since I believe that God through Christ created all things, I believe God created a lot more than Creationists think he created, since they limit his creation to ex nihilo acts. I believe God created me, and he created the Creationists who disagree with me.

I am not sure how a self-proclaimed Christian can at the same time rebuke God as the Creator...some very bad theology going on to make that kind of connection.

I agree, as the Nicene Creed states:
We Believe in ONE God, the Father, Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
And in ONE Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-Begotten, Begotten of the Father before all ages. Light of Light; True God of True God; Begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father by whom all things were made;

I was just going to use those words myself. Yes, of course, I believe God is the Creator of all things. And I will further specify that I mean the Triune God. For Christ as Word of God and God the Holy Spirit are as much involved in creation as God the Father.

Where did the weird notion that we don't believe in creation come from?

All the more reason to replace "theistic evolutionist" with "evolutionary creationist" as the best description of what we believe.

Yes, God is the author, creator, and sustainer of all things. To the already good list of scripture, I'll add Genesis 1:1-

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Because it seems to be repeated even after being corrected, I wonder if in some people, it is being used as a tactic to argue against evolutionary creationism. No doubt others just heard it afterwards, and didn't know better. Maybe ask mark, as he repeats it often (and I think inspired this thread) ? mark, may we kindly ask where you got the notion that we don't believe everything is created by God?

The follow up question should be, literally or figuratively?

I, for one, would say "literally", but I recognize you may be envisioning something different by that term than I am.

I would be interested in knowing what it means to you to say God literally created all things, visible and invisible?

What does it rule out?
