Who does God want to love Him? He wants everybody, not just certain people. John 3:16-17 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” That Verse doesn’t start off with something like ‘For God so loved the Hebrews,’ or ‘God so loved the Greeks, or ‘slaves,’ or ‘the free,’ or ‘men’ or ‘women,’ it says, “the world.” The world is full of diverse people, who have the opportunity to be heirs to the Promise God made to Abraham if they are Christ’s, as it says in Galatians 3:28-29.

As it is Easter, Romans 5:8 says that God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Does that verse refer only to certain groups of sinners? Commentators write that the sinners referred to here are everyone who is under the sin of Adam. In essence, then, it is the sins of mankind who at least were created in God’s image. Mankind is made up of a lot of difference people.

Jesus in Matthew 28:19 implores his disciples to make disciples of “all nations;” He didn’t say ‘certain ones.’ He doesn’t say to go out and make disciples of just the Jews, or of the Greeks, etc. There is no such qualifier in Matthew 28:19.

If God doesn’t limit the inclusion, then who is man to do so? Did Jesus implore his disciples to pick and choose from a multiple of people as to who in particular should be disciples? Did he say, ‘Go to these nations, but not those?’

Is it important to strive for equality? Under God, equality only exists in the form of equal weights and measures. If we love God, we need not think of equality when considering people, since to love God is to also love our neighbor. We have love guide us when it comes to all people; love is the primary act of faith, not equality, but when we so love, it is natural to love everyone regardless of where we come from. And diversity is one ultimate result of love.

Some governments who represent themselves as acting under God have enacted laws that force diversity. Those who criticize such governments say that people should be free to choose whom they should live next to and work with. But what of people who choose to only live next to and work with, people who are the same as themselves? Do those people really love God, who wants EVERYONE to love Him and their neighbor?

There have been banks who have redlined neighborhoods, turning down blacks who have applied for mortgages to live in those neighborhoods. They were turned down not because they didn’t have the means to make the mortgage payments every month; they were turned down simply because they were black. They were not even given the decency to be considered in terms of equal weights and measures referred to in the Bible. What is a government under God to do?
In my career, I was witness to a black man who applied for a job to work for a boss of mine. He was screened by personnel, then was walked over to meet with my boss, who took him in a room to be interviewed. My boss sent him back to personnel after the interview. I don’t know what my boss initially told the personnel director in terms of what he was looking for, but after the applicant left, the director came over to my boss and apologized for bringing the applicant over, but he had to give everyone the opportunity of meeting with my boss if they had the professional qualifications my boss was looking for. My boss said he understood, and ultimately he did not hire that applicant. Comes to mind, did Jesus say to spread The Word only to certain people? Are not all who are in Christ, who are then entitled to the inheritance of Abraham, to be treated as if they are in Christ?

So, any government under God who forces diversity should be seen as a reasonable reaction to those who not accept every God-fearing person as they would such a person like themselves. Because how can a government under God allow those in their household to exclude people out of hand, not giving those people consideration at least in the form of equal weights and measures that should be applied to everyone?

If we can give everyone our love as we know it from the second commandment of Jesus, we would be doing well. But as such a thing may be seen as a function of works, it is better to look upon it as a function of our faith in God.

The world speaks of different races, but God recognizes mankind as one race. There is only one essential distinction in this race; those who are in Christ and those who are not. On judgement day, people from every nation, tribe, and tongue will be judged according to that one essential distinction.
